Dermaplaning, also known as “manual exfoliation,” gains its name from the natural exfoliation, or “planing,” of the skin. This exfoliation treatment scapes down the skin and exfoliates off the top few layers to remove dead, damaged, and rough skin. It leaves the skin looking and feeling softer, smoother, and more youthful. The Dermaplane treatment can be applied to small or large areas of the skin, and is performed only on a patient’s face. This procedure is safe and effective for all skin types and complexions, and can be used in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure, like a chemical peel.
